Tour des Suds - Blood, Sweat and Beers

Here at Fyxation we are celebrating the arrival of fall with the launch of our 23c tires, a week of fun in Vegas at Interbike and for some of us, the pre-Interbike warm up - the Tour des Suds race in Park City, UT.

Last year on the way to Interbike a few of us entered a fun little mountain bike race in Park City, UT called the Tour des Suds. The race is a 7 mile grind from the town of Park City to the top of a nearby pass. Total elevation gain is about 2000 feet and the finish line is up around 9000 feet. This race is a fundraiser for the Mountain Trails Foundation in PC which is responsible for maintaining over 300 miles of excellent single track. Besides the mountain scenery and the joy of sucking wind for over an hour the most redeeming quality of this race is the free keg of suds at the end of the race that seems to make it all worthwhile.

Sorry people but gears are a must in this one. The pic below is a view from the top of Guardsman's pass. If you happen to be driving through Utah on the way to the show, you may just want to pull off of I-80 to stretch the legs and to watch a bit of the race.
