The $70,000 Fixie

I'm a big fan of technology and the use of sustainable material in design; the idea of borrowing from classic design is inspiring as well. So when I caught Andy Martin's bicycle concept on Fast Co. I just had to share.

via Fast Co.

Mr. Martin's design leans on the steam bending technology used to make the famous Thonet No. 14 chair, but utilizes technology not available when the No. 14 was created. With a price tag of $70k I'm not expecting to see this in any local alley cats soon, but if it made a stop at our local museum I would definetly be there to check it out.
