Custom Street Machine

Recently, the favorite part of my day here at Fyxation has been coming into work in the morning and seeing the latest custom bike builds that our crew has been working on. We've been offering custom builds for the last few months for customers that wanted something a little different than our stock builds.  It's a great way for them to get exactly what they want but also for us really get a chance to play with some cool options for future production bikes.

Anyway, I was out of the office yesterday and when I came in this morning I saw this. Whoa!!

After wiping the drool off my shirt Joel filled me in about this latest custom Eastside build. AJ from Longmont, CO recently contacted us about his desire to build up a street ready custom track bike that he could ride around town most of the year regardless of the conditions.  Longmont is a bit north of Denver in the front range of Colorado and while it doesn't get as much snow as the mountains, they still get their share of weather.

AJ decided to step up the spec of our typical Crimson Eastside complete and added some parts that really made this custom build a high end street machine.  The first upgrade was to add the All City 612 track crank to the build. This is a great crankset made by our friends at All City and is an extremely stiff and strong cold forged 6061 aluminum crankset.

Next AJ wanted to get some beefy tires that could handle riding around Longmont all year so he chose our 700x35c Session 700 tires.  Our Session 700 tires have a very aggressive bead to bead tread pattern and a Kevlar puncture layer that helps keep you on the road.  They are great fixed gear, commuter and even gravel tires and really make this build look bad ass.

To finish things off we added our Comet track drop bars, Tektro RL720 cross levers and our black track grips which feature a very soft Kraton rubber and a tread pattern that matches our Session 700 tires.

This build is sick and is on the way out to Colorado as I write this. Enjoy your new bike AJ!
