Don't call it a comeback! Fyxation just turned 10 and to celebrate we're having a number of "X" edition releases coming out this year. The Eastside X is a tribute to the first Eastside we originally launched in 2013 and is an all matte black fixed gear/single speed designed to ride fast, last long and turn heads.
Don't mess with a classic! The Matte Black Eastside was the first bike we ever produced and even though we love colors here at Fyxation, the Matte Black Eastside is our most popular selling model. Using a strong matte black paint scheme, the signature Divide stripes and decals are gloss black giving this bike a subtle yet inviting look. Built with all black parts and of course Fyxation parts, the new Divide Series Matte Black Eastside is a great choice for any rider.
Fixed Gear or Singlespeed
All Divide Series bikes ship as a single speed so you can coast, but can very easily be converted into a fixed gear by simply rotating the rear wheel using our flip-flop hub. Single speed bikes make a ton of sense in most urban and suburban areas. They are affordable, easy to maintain and repair and make great commuter and get around town bikes. Fyxation bikes are geared for city riding so even with one gear you can cruise around town with ease.
The Matte Black Eastside is built using 4130 chromoly steel for both the frame and the fork which means this beauty is light and strong. We use only sealed bearing hubs in our wheels which gives the Eastside a smooth ride and is something you typically find in higher end track and road bikes. The Matte Black Eastside uses our go anywhere Session 700 tires which were originally introduced by Fyxation in 2009 and are known around the world for their durability and longevity. Finally, all Fyxation bikes ship with front and rear brakes! While this may seem silly to point out, most fixies and singlespeeds on the market ship with only one brake which is both unsafe and forces you to spend extra money adding parts after your initial purchase.

Our complete bikes ship via FedEx in a well padded professional bike box. The bikes ship 95% assembled and you'll simply need a few tools to get your bike built up and on the road. As always, we recommend taking your bike to your local bike shop to get it built up properly. If you don't have a shop nearby, you'll need a pedal wrench and a hex wrench to assemble your bike.

keep in mind I'm coming from daily riding a Nishiki Olympic from the late 70's but the light weight of the frame and responsive handling/steering have made the commute to work in Sacramento much easier. Just don't be married to the matte finish as I find it strips off pretty easily when mounted on sign posts and bike posts in the city. But for a daily ride maintenance is pretty minimal and build quality is great overall. very small scratches were on the bike when delivered but that's gonna happen with daily use anyway imo
So far it’s been great, I got the bike on the day I was supposed to and it was very nicely wrapped. Assembly was easy and the bike is super appealing in person. It’s a great bike for my first bike.
This bike looks awesome and has the perfect amount of drop. All the tools were included in the box and it was easy to set up by myself at home. The frame and stock parts are super durable and if you want, easy to upgrade. I plan on having this bike for a long time.
Still getting used to fixed gear. Glad the bike came with front and rear brakes. The bike in fixed gear is silent. Assembly was easy, tools supplied. I preordered bike. They gave me a date when it would arrive, it was spot in. Once I put more miles I will have another review.
Very nice bike, however quality control is lacking. Had to replace rear brake cable immediately due to it being kinked at almost a 45 degree angle. Bike was definitely not inspected and reboxed as I had expected.
