Gliding over a frozen lake or twisting through a groomed trail—winter riding is best enjoyed with a quick and capable tire that won’t drag you down and still rail through turns.
Inspired by studless winter vehicle snow tires, Cake Eater was designed to have lower center tread height with deep siping for lower rolling resistance while the side lugs remained tall and edgy for biting into soft corners. Studs pockets were added in the transition areas for optional added cornering confidence in icy conditions.
Cake Eater is our fully studdable fast rolling fat tire for long days on the trail and is available in 26×4.0, 26×4.6 and 27.5×4.0.
Got one studded (240 studs) ran out of studs ordered more for the second tire, put the studded tire on the front wheel of my 1000W 48V Fat bike. Now I'm not afraid of loosing control and falling when I hit icy spots, when I get the rear wheel studded my fat bike will be worthy of the name : " Snow Bike". I really like these tires, much lighter than my stock tires and the thread is much better in the snow. the studs were easy to install, I used rubbing alcohol for a lubricant and two gloves on the hand holding the studding tool (screwdriver type) Fyxation sent the tires very quickly, their price was way better than anything on Amazon or Ebay, I recommend this store, will be buying from them again when the occasion presents itself.
Preface: I’m brand new to fat biking on snow. Previous tires were Bontrager Hodag 3.8. For me the 4.5 Cake Eaters make for a somewhat smoother ride on trails packed by foot traffic. On the groomed single track they corner much better. I run about 5 psi and although they bob a bit when pedaling I didn’t break traction going up the numerous little climbs that dot our trails. They also help me hold my line better when having to use the snowmobile trail to get home from Swedetown. The best upgrade I have made on my Farley (and yes they fit with room to spare.)
Fantastic! Although I was under the impression the item was in stock, it WAS within just a couple days then shipped immediately by UPS. I repeat, it shipped by UPS which means my order ARRIVED.
Great traction and performance.
great for hooking up on single track, going down rocky gravel roads; not the best for rolling on flat terrain if you are looking for a fast tire.
