Just when you thought our Mesa pedal couldn't get any tougher. We're pleased to introduce the Mesa 61 alloy pedal. The Mesa 61 is designed for the rider that needs a light pedal with a solid platform without sacrificing durability or strength.
For the Mesa 61 we took the same thin profile and wide body that the Mesa pedal is known for and built the pedal body out of a durable 6061 aluminum that's built for grinds, smashing rocks and anything thing else the streets or mountains through your way. To top it off we added steel replaceable pins that offer just the right amount of grip when you're shredding on your ride. Oh yeah, it was designed to be used with most pedal straps and FRS so unlike most alloy pedals these bad boys will work foot retention.
**Price listed is for a set of pedals (left/right)
I’m pleased with the whole process of ordering and receiving. There was an email confirming the order and receiving the package! Great communication and fast shipment considering I ordered during Black Friday week, took 3 days turn around! I mounted this on my mountain bike and it’s super easy to start on. I’m wondering with use, if the “cleats” will eat up/snag the top of your shoe when you put it in place. Great quality/construction and fast turn around.
By far the best platform pedal on the market! Lightweight, buttery smooth bearings and super grippy pins! Would love to see these in additional colors for us design savvy riders.
I ride my bike to and from work in Washington, DC every day of the year. I wanted a pedal with a large, comfortable platform, and that was built to last with bearings and a seal that could withstand drops in temperature, cold and wet weather, and all the sand and salt used to treat the roads in the winter. I went through four different pedals before learning about this pedal based on the recommendation of my local bike shop. The pedal has been absolutely outstanding. It gets my highest recommendation.
I have now owned two pairs of these pedals and I can't say enough good things about them, or about Fyxation as a company. The first set I purchased was for my urban commuter as I wanted a wide thin platform that I could run with straps. 3 years of year-round commuting through rain, snow, salt and mud and I have not had to do a single thing to them. Smooth as butter. So, when I was searching for another set of pedals for my fatbike a second set became an obvious choice since they ticked all the boxes I was looking for: wide platform (for big boots), thin (minimize pedal strikes), good number of pins (obviously for trail riding grip), and an open cage design (critical for shedding ice and snow). As expected they fit the bill perfectly and perhaps the best endorsement of them is that I've never thought about what my foot-pedal situation again as they are just comfortable and allow me to ride. After about a year of riding I noticed a whirling in one pedal that couldn't be adjusted out with service. Given my experience with my previous pair (still going strong as I mentioned), I contacted Fyxation and they quickly suggested a warranty replacement. Within 3 days I had a brand new replacement set in hand and they are back on the bike, and me on the trails. That sort of customer service is far far too rare these days, but to me at least speaks volumes to how much the company stands behind their product. With al that said, I can't recommend them enough.
I'm mostly a road cyclist, riding 10,000 a year, and always use clipless pedals. But when I bought my fat bike a few years ago, I was looking for a platform pedal that would give me the same security of performance as a clipless, but still allow me the convenience of wearing several different "street" shoes, including my Salomon Toundra -40 degree winter boots, for when I get a rabid case of Wisconsin cabin ever. The Mesa 61 Alloy Platform Pedal does the trick. Great grip, great support, and made to take the punishment of fat-biking all 4 seasons. Thanks for putting out a great product, fyxation!
