Excellent kit!
In my quest for a solution to adding gears to my 15 year old SS bike, I came across your kit. Building wheels is an old hobby of mine so it wasn't a big stretch for me to swap out my old flip-flop hub with a geared hub. Worked like a charm!

6 Fyx: A customizer's dream!
I have a simple track frame who's looks I've always loved, so I turned it into a 6 speed. This kit was the key to the build. The hub is easy to build a wheel into; for mine I was able to use symmetrical spoke lengths; the wheel builder specifically remarked on the quality of the components. For the rest of the build I didn't end up using much. Initially I was going to use the kit as-is, however that changed as the project evolved. That said, what is here is quality and all you need to get shifting. I inquired about modifying the cassette and was told you cannot. This is at least partly because the cogs are pinned (you could of course press the pins out). Instead, I picked up Miche loose cogs and built a slightly wider range cassette and ******* it right on; the cassette body uses Shimano compatible cogs and spacing. A potential gripe is the fact that unless you custom fab a frame-attached derailleur hanger, a simple wheel removal can be a bit of a pain. Also considering the fact the wheel required no dishing, there is likely room for a few more gears, perhaps a Fyx8 or something. At any rate, sorry for such a long review, but I can't say enough good things about this kit, especially for the DIY'er!
