There are a lot of things that we love about living here in Milwaukee and one of our favorites is the local radio station that you'll hear when you come into our shop here in Riverwest, 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. Radio Milwaukee is a 501(c)3 non-profit local radio station that is fully supported by members, donors, underwriters and volunteers. In the ever static world of corporate radio stations, 88Nine focuses on local music and music from smaller bands all over the US and world. They have great DJ's, excellent new music and even have a live stream on their website so you can listen to their music whenever and wherever you are...
Two years ago at Interbike we introduced a new product called the Six Fyx. It was mostly a prototype at the time and we brought it to Interbike to see what bike shops and industry folks thought about it. After Interbike we went back to the drawing board a bit and made a few tweaks to the system but finally, after what seems like forever, the Six Fyx is in stock and now shipping!

ABOUT BLUE STEEL FABRICATION
Blue Steel Fabrication is a custom bicycle frame builder based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We came to meet Paul at the Downer Avenue Criterium this last year and Joel from Fyxation HQ immediately started planning his own ideal custom fabricated bicycle with Paul. Joel worked out custom geometry around the Fyxation Quiver and the Trek 170. Once the geometry was ironed out, Joel and Paul settled on Columbus SL tubing, Cinelli lugs and stainless dropouts. Blue Steel Fabrication lends their expertise to the design and construction of custom bicycles, so like Joel, you end up with your dream build!
Riding a fat bike is a ton of fun and we recommend it for anyone that wants to have a new adventure on a bike. The first time I rode a fat bike reminded me of the first time I rode a mountain bike. You suddenly realize all the possibilities that are out there and new places you'll be able to go with the wider tires of today's fatties. One of the concerns we hear about all the time from people when it comes to getting a fat bike is the weight. While some of the earlier steel fat bikes from companies like Surly and Charge definitely are heavy, newer carbon fiber fat bike options like our Blackhawk have brought the weight down considerably and with the right build, fat bike weights can rival that of even the lightest mountain bikes. Here's our latest Tech Notes from Joel here at Fyxation how he shaved a few pounds off of his rig by going tubeless.
