Built around Manitou's all-new 34mm Hyperlite chassis, the R8 Pro achieves a claimed weight of 1,498g without resorting to carbon steerers or exotic crowns. The reverse arch design — a Manitou signature — shortens the path between legs to reduce material weight while increasing torsional stiffness. Every gram-saving measure, from the hollow-bored crown to the 25g Hexlock SL-R axle, was done without compromising rigidity or long-term reliability.
The VTT Pro-X sealed cartridge damper delivers three independently activatable circuits: a fully open mode for maximum sensitivity on rough terrain, a support mode that adds both high- and low-speed compression for aggressive riding, and a firm lockout for climbing. This is not a simple open/firm toggle — it's a genuinely sophisticated damping system that rewards riders who take the time to dial it in.
