Johnny 5 is still alive! Terrene does it again with their newest fat bike tire, the Johnny 5. This true 5" fat bike tire is designed to offer extreme flotation when you need it most. Many modern fat bikes can fit up to a 26x5" fat bike tire yet there are very few on the market. The Johnny 5 is a welcome addition and will surely be a best seller this season. Tubeless ready and includes 320 studs for tons of traction and grip.
Plowing through a layer of fresh morning snow, or grinding on into the unknown in the dead of winter—adverse riding conditions require flotation and traction to keep you on the surface and moving forward when stopping is not an option. Johnny 5 is our extreme soft conditions tire, intended to deliver the float and traction needed to continue moving forward when surface density is questionable. Designed with a wide platform, tall paddle lugs, and 320 studs for maximum traction, the full 5” width Johnny 5 is the largest, most aggressive fat tire available. Johnny 5 is ready to ride.
About the Studs:
The original crown-point stud, the Triple Traction Stud has a tungsten carbide stud inserted into an aluminum base. Since it has significantly more surface area and grabbing power than our competitors’ versions, you can use less of them to reduce both weight and cost.

Great tire. The best qualities of my Surly Lue and 45North Wrathchild in one tire. Now my favorite, it’s side lugs are amazing, the tread pattern feels fast, and the number of studs are mind boggling.
Great email communication on product availability and estimated arrival. I’ve always had a good purchasing experience with Fyxation. Thanks!!
Awesome tires, unbelievable traction on ice and great flotation on snow. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting the ultimate winter tire!
I’ve got to use these tires 4x in the last 10 days here in SWPa. I didn’t know what to expect coming from D5’s but they have exceeded my expectations. I’ve ridden the Johnny 5’s in 6” of fresh snow and aired down to 5.5 in the rear and 4.5 in the front (I’m 230 geared up) and had great float and was able to go everywhere except the steep ups. Went back 3 days later after it was beat in and used and made everything this time. The last couple rides were on hard pack snow and ice, I aired up to 7 & 6 psi and the over 600 studs kept me upright the whole time. I’m really pleased with J5”s and recommend them to anybody running 26” wheels. I don’t regret the purchase at all.
The J5's have been a great addition to by Big Jon. While not a true 5-inch tire, I measure them at 4.6 to 4.7 inches on 80mm rims at 6psi. Good grip in the snow and the ice patches I have encountered so far have been a non-issue.
