Don't call it a comeback! Fyxation just turned 10 and to celebrate we're having a number of "X" edition releases coming out this year. The Eastside X is a tribute to the first Eastside we originally launched in 2013 and is a gloss blue fixed gear/single with silver and black parts speed designed to ride fast, last long and turn heads.
Besides our Matte Black Eastside X, we wanted our premium single speeds to really stand out so we used a high quality gloss paint and stunning parts to make the Eastside X line-up really pop. The combination of quality parts and an equally high quality paint job, the new Eastside X is a great choice for any rider.
Fixed Gear or Singlespeed
All Eastsides ship as a single speed so you can coast, but can very easily be converted into a fixed gear by simply rotating the rear wheel using our flip-flop hub. Single speed bikes make a ton of sense in most urban and suburban areas. They are affordable, easy to maintain and repair and make great commuter and get around town bikes. Fyxation bikes are geared for city riding so even with one gear you can cruise around town with ease.
The Blue Steel Eastside is built using 4130 chromoly steel for both the frame and the fork which means this beauty is light and strong. We use only sealed bearing hubs in our wheels which gives the Eastside a smooth ride and is something you typically find in higher end track and road bikes. The Eastside uses our go anywhere Session 700 tires which were originally introduced by Fyxation in 2009 and are known around the world for their durability and longevity. Finally, all Fyxation bikes ship with front and rear brakes! While this may seem silly to point out, most fixies and singlespeeds on the market ship with only one brake which is both unsafe and forces you to spend extra money adding parts after your initial purchase.

Our complete bikes ship via FedEx in a well padded professional bike box. The bikes ship 95% assembled and you'll simply need a few tools to get your bike built up and on the road. As always, we recommend taking your bike to your local bike shop to get it built up properly. If you don't have a shop nearby, you'll need a pedal wrench and a hex wrench to assemble your bike.

I received the Eastside X Steel Blue, 58cm (I'm 6'1" long arms), and it fits just right! Assembling was a cinch, all the needed compact tools are included, and I just added a little grease to the seat post and pedal threads. While I really like the bicycle in itself, what I genuinely appreciate is that a chain/pant protector was included! I have pant straps but they're a hassle for me, and I'm not always wearing shorts. The ride is extremely smooth, fast and simple fun. Customer service through emails was excellent. They are very reasonable people and responsive. I will recommend Fyxture and may get my wife one. Thanks.
Very quality piece. Could use a better saddle.
The Eastside X Blue Steel is a great bike for the price point. Arrived with no issues or blemishes. The 4130 frame is straight and light for this level of bike. As with any bike in this category from other companies, components are reliable but will need attention after a while if you use your bike a lot. But I guess that's any bike, really. This is perfect for me though as an around town and commuter bike, along with the occasional 20+ mile ride. The wheels are fine. Heavy but reliable (like me, I guess). I prefer box rims but, again, that's the price point. Also, the grips (which I guess are the same tread as the tires) look nice but are slightly uncomfortable to me. And they're easily replaced and certainly not a deal breaker in any way. Aside from price and component quality, one of the biggest selling points for me was the sizing and geometry. The sizing range makes way more sense to me than the limited ranges from other companies where a frame size covers a wide span of rider heights. With Fyxation, I felt confident that a 58cm frame would fit me (6'2) well. Like with every bike company, the pandemic caused shipping delays. However, Fyxation was great in communicating and responding. Solid customer service. This alone would put them above so many other companies but their bikes happen to be good too. Between the quality of bikes and the customer service, I have no idea why Fyxation is not mentioned more often. There are not a lot of youtube reviews or forums talking about them. And, frankly, the Eastside easily competes with the State 4130 and at a slightly better price. (Given this experience and my bike's quality, I would also be more inclined to buy a Pixel than the much-touted Core Line.) Color selection is on par and components are mostly better or similar to competitors. Where State, 6KU, Retrospec, and Pure get all the love (and quite a bit of hate, might I add), Fyxation is silently selling great bikes at a great price. I honestly have no idea how I came across them but I'm glad I did.
This is my first true single speed bike coming from a GT Meatball with a 2 speed automatic. I wanted something similar with a clean aesthetic and minimal maintenance. I honestly think you could get better value from other brands such as Pure Cycles or State Street for $100+ less - I only picked the Eastside for the color scheme and blacked out components (I'm actually not thrilled with the color, it's a much lighter blue than in the pictures.) The quality of the components seems ok and the 4130 chromoly steel frame still feels heavy, otherwise pretty decent out the box. Installation was a breeze.
I haven't had a bike since I was a kid, but decided to get one for fitness and running errands. I ended up with the Eastside X, and I'm completely obsessed with it! Handles great, and is extremely fun to ride on.
